Clever Consult Helps Russian Boxing Champion Avoid 4-Year Ban

Dulma Lumbudova’s sample provided at the beginning of 2022 was found to contain Trimetazidine, which constitutes an anti-doping rule violation (ADRV) with a standard sanction of a four-year period of ineligibility.  However, with the help of Clever Consult, the athlete was able to avoid such a sanction. 

Thanks to the diligent efforts of our experienced professionals, it was proved that the source of the substance was a contaminated product.  Two independent tests carried out in Saint-Petersburg laboratory and Lausanne anti-doping laboratory confirmed this fact.

As a result, instead of imposing a four-year period of ineligibility the ITA* agreed to a one year suspension which, in the interests of the athlete, was backdated and started from the date of testing but not from the beginning of the provisional suspension. 

Thus, Dulma was able to return to the training process (and even competitions!) the very next day after the proceedings against her were completed.
