Minimum Sanction for Nikita Lysenin: Result of Our Efforts

We are pleased to announce that we have helped Nordic Combined athlete Nikita Lysenin receive the minimum possible sanction in a case of an anti-doping rule violation (ADRV) — a six-month suspension, of which less than four months remain to be served.

Moreover, in accordance with paragraph 12.14.1 of the Russian Anti-Doping Rules, he is eligible to resume training activities as early as July 18.Nikita inadvertently used a nasal spray containing a substance prohibited in-competition.

Due to the evidence we gathered and a well-structured legal argument, we successfully convinced the RUSADA Disciplinary Anti-Doping Committee that, considering all the specific details of the case, the ADRV was not intentional and that the degree of fault was minimal.

Once again, this case emphasizes the significance of maintaining a cautious approach even with medications that may appear harmless — and underscores the necessity of seeking professional guidance when facing challenges.
