Clever Consult Helps Anatoly Golyshev Avoid Two-Year Suspension

On March 22, 2025, following his 600th competitive appearance in Kontinental Hockey Leage (KHL) – in a game against Magnitogorsk Metallurg, Anatoly Golyshev, a forward for HC Avtomobilist, provided a sample as part of a routine anti-doping control. Subsequent analysis of the sample returned an Adverse Analytical Finding (AAF) for a prohibited substance.

The case was heard before RUSADA Disciplinary Anti-Doping Committee (DAC). Clever Consult engaged leading Russian and international experts in mass spectrometry and biochemistry to provide independent professional opinions. Thanks to the diligent work and strategic legal approach of our team, the standard sanction was successfully and significantly reduced. The DAC ultimately imposed a six-month period of ineligibility for the player. Under the Russian Anti-Doping Rules, the athlete may resume training with the team one and a half months before the end of the sanction – which, in this case, permits him to do so immediately.
