Clever Consult secures victory for VTB United League in National Center of Arbitration for Sport

The Clever Consult legal team added another impressive success to their record.In the dispute between Avtodor basketball club and VTB United League, our lawyers have successfully fought for the interests of the latter.

Legal proceedings took place at the National Center of Arbitration for Sport (NCAS). Clever Consult sought to uphold the decision of the League Directorate to sanction the Club for violating the Rules of the League Championships, namely, for making negative remarks about the League and its officials, and for openly discussing officiating, in violation of the Rules.

The procedure proved to be exceptionally challenging: the parties exchanged written submissions and evidence twice prior to the hearing.  The hearing itself lasted more than two and a half hours.Owing to the carefully designed legal strategy, proficient execution and meticulous approach to the case, Clever Consult legal experts made a compelling case for the League, resulting in complete support from the NCAS arbitrators and the upholding of the League Directorate's decision.  Despite being represented by a highly experienced and well-known firm in the sports and law industry, the Club's claim was dismissed.
